Documentary photography as a way of capturing important moments and events is becoming more popular within the world of photography.  However, few photographers have the interpersonal skills needed to make this a truly memorable and comfortable experience for their clients.  As a mature individual with a background in the public sector I have good communication and interpersonal skills giving me the ability to ensure clients feel relaxed and able to fully express their wishes.

TCD Photography covers social and formal events in a documentary style.  This means no constructed or posed imagery.  The moments captured are done in a totally natural way with no disruption to proceedings for those attending.  This enables candid but sensitive results.  It aims to show the interpersonal relationships between people present and captures the more intimate moments that conventional photography can't achieve.

This extends to commercial and corporate functions and can capture your business at work, in a way that enables accurate documentation of any events that you run.  

TCD Photography also provides a home service where family portraiture can happen in the comfort of your own home with no disruptions and the ease of being in familiar surroundings, which can be particularly important with young children. 

TCD Photography is a totally mobile service, which means that no venue is off limits.

'The Healthchek Clinic' specialises in nutrition, strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, and lifestyle coaching. 

Individualised programming techniques have helped both teams and individuals improve performance, increase recovery capabilities, prevent injuries, and improve health and vitality. I'm the founder of The Healthchek Clinic in Derby, England, where I maintain an active practice designing corrective, performance enhancement, and rehabilitative exercise programs for clients with chronic musculo-skeletal problems. Individualised nutritional programs are also form an integeral part of my practice.

While operating my full time practice, i am also consultant to several teams and clubs ranging from top Motorcycle teams through to local Golf clubs. To ensure that my clients are at their peak, I design menu plans that optimise their energy levels. One of my main testing procedures is the use of Metabolic Typing. As a Metabolic Typing Intermediate advisor I offer clients precise nutritional plans appropriate for their individual biochemistry.

I'm also a current student of the University of Derby specialising in various subjects relevent to my clinic. I'm also a certified CHEK Exercise Coach and am studying to become a CHEK (Corrective High-Performance Exercise Kinesiology) Level 1 Practitioner.  As an athlete, I understand the needs of my clients and strive to stay on the cutting edge of training, supplementation, nutrition, rehabilitation and performance enhancement. I continually travel, research and study to help aquire the best methods and techniques to help individuals achieve their ultimate goal at my clinic.

What the Company does:
Transient Innovations Ltd is an online game development company. We are in the process of developing our first title a Massively Multiplayer Online Game or MMOG called Dark Cataclysm. Our work is fairly broad, covering programming, artistic concept work, 3d modelling, networking with hardware and various other smaller interim jobs between those. Our project has a 6 year development cycle and we hope to have a product ready for release by 2011.

Successes/achievements to date:
We have successfully setup a company, with bank account, ltd registration, and website. As well as networked successfully to an accountants and a solicitors. Contracts are also in place for sub contracted work and Confidentiality agreements cover what is in the main Intellectual Property on the part of the design. We have also had alot of PR in the local area and I myself have been in four newspapers, plus the Staffordshire University newsletter and there was also a radio interview conducted in Hanley. We have three people sub contracted, working for us on a part time voluntary basis. They work as many hours as they can to develop key sections of the game, which cover 3d content, concept art and audio. With regards to development, we have created a very basic prototype in an American engine. We are now however moving away from this engine in favour of something that has better support and better deployability. There is also the possibility that we may come to secure investment soon.

How the SPEED Scheme helped:
The speed scheme is a fantastic chance for people to learn, make mistakes and ultimately create their own company. Yet it allows people the ability to get on with things without having to worry about a lot of the security issues there would be, with gaining funds through bank loans, or giving away masses of equity in the business to gain investment. It has allowed us to gain invaluable access to lists of networking events, many of which I have personally been to and also allowed us to gain mentorship from several people. Be that the management team at Staffordshire University for Speed, or Lecturers with a keen and enthusiastic view of the work being carried out. The business villages are well situated near to the campus and allow us to use the resources of the university and the management teams for Speed are only too happy to help in making sure each company has the best chance of success. For Transient Innovations the scheme is even better, as we need to kick start our development and the grant we gain, plus the mentorship allows us to get a very good idea of where we need to go…without falling at the first hurdle.
